Elections

To be eligible to vote, registration on the voters list in the consular service is mandatory. Citizens who meet the legal requirements and are not included in the electoral register must apply for registration.

Application forms for registration and de-listing are available from the consular services and on our website. Must be completed, dated and duly signed by citizens of the consular area and mailed or deposited at the registration consulate.

Conditions and procedures for registration in the electoral register:

• The citizen must be at least 18 years old.
• Be registered with the consulate.
• Enjoyment of civil and civil rights.

Revision of the voters list

The annual review of the voters list takes place from 05 November to 05 December .

The voters' list may also be revised on an exceptional basis when elections are announced. The opening and closing dates for the extraordinary review period are set by presidential decree calling voters to convene. The Consulate will publish a notice of the opening and closing of the extraordinary review period of the voters list that allows the revision of the voters list to be updated.

Proxy Voting

Voters may, at their request, exercise their right to vote by proxy if they belong to one of the following categories::

• Patients who are hospitalized or cared for at home.
• Severely disabled or infirm.
• Citizens who work outside the consular area and/or on the go, those who have been detained at the workplace during elections and those who are temporarily abroad.
